The Little Rabbit

Well, we started "the little rabbit" this week....In the story..Sarah (the little girl) gets a rabbit for Easter, in her basket. The rabbit and Sarah have several adventures. It's a cute story, the pages are not illustrated, they are photographed.

We have been talking about rabbits, and baby rabbits (bunnies). Baby B chose this unit, as I wanted to do "the Carrot Seed". This book did not have alot of the ready made "helps" so , the lapbook and activities are going to be all me...LOL pray for success...HA HA

We went to the mall today to see the pet store...and of course check out the bookstore. We went to two pet stores before we found one lil bunny. According to Baby B "the rabbit was getting mad and needed to run". She actually pet it...she is not really too found of touching animals yet, as shes thinks they are a bit "creepy" . We also, made lil handprint bunnies. We traced her hand onto paper...then cut the middle finger off and folded the thumb and pinkie in. I will take pics and show it better when we are done with the lapbook.

But, yesterday When we were talking about baby animals, we came across this great website with tonz and tonz of baby animal photos. People have sent in pics of baby animals from monkeys to hippos.. We must have spent an hour or so looking at them and picking out a few "bunny" photos to make cards for our lapbook. She probably would have sat their for at least another hour.. she loved it..

It is so cute the growth I have seen in her in just a few weeks of "channeling". I mean we have always read, and colored, etc..it's just nice to feel like we are doing this with a purpose..
